How to cut out an ID photo

ID photos need clean edges and a specific background color. Remove the original backdrop locally, then export a transparent PNG or a JPEG with a solid fill.

Why process ID photos on-device

Passport, visa, and resume photos contain faces and personal data. Uploading them to a random site creates extra copies. This tool runs in browser memory and discards the image when you refresh or close the tab.

What to export

Choose PNG or WebP if you need transparency and will add a red or blue backdrop later. Choose JPEG with a white fill when a form requires a pure white background. JPEG has no alpha channel, so set the fill color first.

Even lighting helps. If hair is clipped, switch to the large model or retake the photo against a higher-contrast backdrop. You can queue several sizes at once and download a ZIP when they finish.

GIFs only use the first frame—use still JPEG, PNG, or HEIC for ID photos. Check collar, ears, and hair with the compare slider before downloading.
